Emma Hardicker

Silkscreen Artist, Designer and Printer from Birmingham

About Me

Hello, I'm Emma, welcome to my website. Here you'll find examples of my art work past and present. I've written a bit about my style and inspirations to give some background to my designs; I hope you find it interesting…

I work as an artist/designer producing clean, crisp prints, full of colour, texture and strong pattern. I specialise in silkscreen printing where I design and hand print quality pieces of art. Every aspect of my work is thought through and considered, from the design to the hand printing and selecting the right frame to create a striking impact for your interior.

Working from my studio, I also create paintings in oils and acrylics producing landscapes of pattern in rich colours. Nature and landscapes have been a continuing source of inspiration for me; the changing colours of the seasons, and the patterns and textures they create.

Whether it's the hard geometric lines of the city or more natural organic shapes, my pictures are all sensory snapshots, which I abstract and recreate into vivid two-dimensional designs.

I graduated with a BA(hons) in Textile Design from Nottingham Trent University, and went on to work as a studio photographer, where I was able to develop a deeper understanding of how colour, light, shadow and composition can create and effect a mood. Over the past nine years I have been developing my style and successfully selling my work through galleries and craft fairs and continue to do so. I have always had a passion for designing and making and can't imagine life without it!

Feel free to contact me for further information, to purchase existing work or for commissions, and don't forget to keep checking my homepage for news on new work and upcoming exhibitions!

See you soon
